A Baby Step

This blog is for those small things in life that you come across; a tiny boutique store, a lyrically sound song, a random gift or a conversation with a stranger that can make you feel fabulous.
Why Ruby? Ruby is a precious gemstone, signifying warmth, radiance, love, and compassion. To own a ruby is said to bring one contentment and peace. The ruby is also the birthstone of those born in July when Yours Truly celebrates each 30th.

Put both of these thoughts together and you get my vision; to have a place where you can be passionate about the small things in life which in turn make you feel like a million bucks.
I understand shoes and songs do not exactly fulfill you for a lifetime but it is all too often we do not stop to smell those ruby roses and realize that a pleasure in this fast-paced life is meant to be enjoyed.

I have always wanted to open my own store that brings this idea alive . A place where a bad or somewhat ordinary day can make the purchase of a new ring make you walk with your chin up a little bit higher. At the ripe age of 24 I realize this can't happen...yet. This, is a baby step.

So here is to finding those amazing pair of shoes that you convinced yourself to splurge on (hey, dinner can be soup for another week right!?), to listening to a song live it brings you to tears, or to stumbling across a cafe in the middle of nowhere that serves the best pumpkin cake and cappuccino this side of the Mississippi.
